Grant was born and raised in Omaha, NE. He holds a BA in English from North Central College, a MA in English from Middlebury College, and a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. In-between his degrees, Grant taught sixth grade elementary on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, spent a summer working as a Park Ranger at Yellowstone National Park, and taught eighth grade Reading/Language Arts at the Chicago Jesuit Academy. Grant is currently the Recruitment Coordinator at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, is commissioned as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church, and serves at Urban Village Church in Chicago. Grant resides with his husband, Connor, and his cat-daughter, Nessa, in the heart of Chicago
